What a signing agent does

Careful, complete loan signings

A Notary Signing Agent makes sure the right people sign the right documents correctly, then gets the package back to the hiring party.

  • Verify identity

Confirm each signer’s identity with acceptable, current identification, as Texas law requires.

  • Guide the signing

Present the documents in order and show where each signature, initial, and date belongs.

  • Witness & notarize

Witness signatures and perform the notarial acts the documents require, with a complete journal entry.

  • Return the package

Check for missed signatures and dates, then return the documents exactly as the hiring party instructs.

Cameron is not an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas and may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. A signing agent doesn’t interpret loan terms, select documents, or act as an attorney, lender, or title agent.

Loan signing assignment fees vary depending on the services requested. Applicable statutory notarial fees and additional service charges will be disclosed as required. Final pricing is confirmed before accepting an appointment.

Any Texas notarial fees are itemized within your quote and never exceed the amounts Texas law allows (see the Notary Services fee schedule). Fees are set by Cameron McClendon, not by the National Notary Association.

For individual signers

Preparing for your signing appointment

If your lender or title company has arranged your signing — or you need a signing agent yourself — a little preparation keeps the appointment smooth.

Book a loan signing
  • Have a current, government-issued photo ID ready for every person signing.
  • Make sure everyone who needs to sign will be present for the appointment.
  • Don’t sign or date anything before the appointment.
  • Set aside enough uninterrupted time at a table with good light.
  • Send questions about loan terms, rates, or fees to your lender, title, or escrow officer — the notary can’t answer them.

FAQ

Common questions

What is a Notary Signing Agent?

A Notary Public who has been trained to handle loan document signings: verifying identity, guiding signers through the package, notarizing where required, and returning the documents to the hiring company.

What does “NNA Certified” mean?

Cameron passed the National Notary Association’s Notary Signing Agent exam and background screening. It is a private professional certification held by Cameron personally — not a government license — and it doesn’t add to the authority of his Texas Notary Public commission.

Can you explain my loan documents or give legal advice?

No. A notary who isn’t an attorney can’t give legal advice, explain the legal effect of documents, or interpret loan terms. Your lender, title company, escrow officer, or an attorney can answer those questions.

Do you print loan documents?

Yes. Cameron accepts emailed loan documents and prints them on a laser printer, on letter- and legal-size paper.

How much does a loan signing cost?

Each assignment is quoted individually based on the signing type, package size, travel distance, printing, and scheduling. Any statutory notarial fees and additional service charges are disclosed, and the final price is confirmed before the appointment is accepted.

Which areas do you cover?

Signings in Houston, Katy, Richmond, Rosenberg, Fulshear, Cypress and surrounding communities in Fort Bend County and Harris County.

How do title companies request a signing?

Use the “Request a Loan Signing Appointment” button to book a request call, or use the contact form, call, or email with the signing type, general area, requested date, and instructions. Please don’t send borrower documents or personal financial information through any of these.
